my story
I belong to a family of doctors. Healthy living has been part of my DNA till I came to Bangalore. Then the DNA started to mutate to adapt to stressful & fast paced lifestyle, processed & junk food and cold storage fruits & veggies loaded with artificial colors, pesticides and hormones.
This lead to a lot of deficiencies leading to a frayed health, dull hair and skin. Ironically I was working as a highly paid IT professional but was gaining poor health. This made me wonder - 'Why am I doing this to myself?'
I was busy to achieve wealth that eventually I would have donated to doctors. I wanted a way out. Then I remembered quizzing my father, who is a doctor...”Papa, what does palak have? What does orange give us?” And he would patiently tell me the uses of nutrients. But he didn't tell me how much is required in our bodies to get our natural defences up.
This got me interested in Nutrition and how taking the right nutrients can work as preventive medicine instead of taking allopathic medicines, which may lead to side effects. I tried this method of alternate medicine on myself to cure myself of immunity issues and to achieve 25kgs of weight loss post my son's delivery. I also did a teachers training course in “Hatha Yoga”.
While most people understand the importance of good fitness and nutrition habits, many find it hard to achieve them on their own. I actively work with people in their pursuit of a healthy lifestyle and fitness goals. I offer practical advice, yoga workout plans and nutritional strategies. I provide a holistic approach to healthy living and monitor a person's health and wellness using 4 pillars of health - Food, Exercise, Stress and Sleep. I help people of all ages, social backgrounds and fitness levels.
My areas of expertise includes meal planning, cooking healthy (with minimum loss of nutrition), weight reduction & management, joints and bone health, hair & skin health to name a few.
