Fit, healthy and tummy free
WQ_ImageTestimonials_DemishtoJohn.png

You may grow quick alone but you go far with community.

Demishto's journey towards weight gain and obesity sounds very familiar. Sedentary work style, untimely food habits, odd shifts - all translated into extra kilos.

Add to it the stress that comes with a senior role. More so, when he was looking down on his wicked weighing scale that showed 84 kgs in January 2020.

This was also when he saw his stamina go down drastically. "Along with growing in career, I was growing in weight and waist too", quips Demishto.

He decided to shed some flab and get healthy. But he had made such resolutions quite a few times before, everytime in vain.

In his words, his undoing was the fact that he was tracking the fitness journey all by himself.

But when he got in touch with a coach from WQ community through his wife, his fortunes flipped. The feeling of a community instantly settled him and gave him confidence.

The fact that WQ approach is not uni-dimensional but focuses on different pillars of health, was a big help.

"Doing workout with friends will keep you disciplined", says Demishto.

Few months down the line, he had regained his fitness. He was around 13kgs lighter.

His visceral fat went down to 8 from 13 and BMI creeped back to 22 - his lowest ever - from 27.5.

With all this, he found his stamina return. "I can play badminton for straight 3 hours and even participate in tournaments", says Demishto with a spring in his steps.

The icing on the cake for Demishto is that his weight has been steady since 4 months. He has found a new mission to help a lot of people turn fit , healthy and tummy free.

"Being healthy and fit is part of daily routine and it's not an overnight journey", signs off Demishto.

WQ_ImageTestimonials_SumitKumar_Mar2021.png

“The beauty of life lies in adapting to the change and making the best of the situation. This is the key to happiness and success”, says Sumit Kumar.

A software professional in USA - doesn’t that sound like a dream come true?

Well, it was so for Sumit until he woke up one fine day to find himself unrecognisable in the mirror. A lean and active college boy that he had been, Sumit had always believed that gaining weight in the software industry was not going to be his story.

But the ugly truth stared at him when sedentary lifestyle started showing its colour on his weighing scale.

Frequent aches and pains, digestive disorders were becoming his new normal. The alarm bell rang loud when his medical report showed a very high triglyceride.

As he looked around for help, he found Wellness Quotient through an old friend and things just fell in place.

The wellness coach designed a sustainable program based on his work schedule and food habits and walked every step of the journey with him.

Soon, Sumit could see things brightening up as his parameters showed better figures. Triglyceride came down to 94 from 399, he weighed 14 kgs less and everything looked positive.

When his baby arrived during the pandemic, Sumit’s joy knew no bounds. Adding to his happiness was the fact that his changed lifestyle habits helped him lose wight even with the change that the newborn brought to his schedule.

“But for Wellness Quotient, all this would have been far from reality,” beams a thankful Sumit.

Today, Sumit is fit as a fiddle sans aches and pains, very regular with workouts and helping others get fit.

WQ_ImageTestimonials_Kalpesh.png

With a job background in a government organisation where health has always been a top priority, being overweight was almost a crime.

And, it was so for Kalpesh!

He had a rigorous daily regime of 1 to 2 hours of workout, so exercise was never a challenge.

But, working long hours and in odd shifts led him to have a prominent pot belly. Having a family history of diabetes, it was a wake up call for him to do something about it immediately.

It's around that time he got introduced to Wellness Quotient. Though, not certain at first, he decided to give it a try.

"Soon, things started to change for the better", says Kalpesh.

Along with exercise, he started focussing on other 5 pillars of wellness, especially eating right and on-time.

Consistence was the key. He disciplined himself and started following suggested lifestyle religiously under the guidance of his coach.

At first, he started feeling small changes. Soon, people around him started noticing and complimenting him.

In 3 months time, he could move from 78 kilos to 68 kilos!

Investment in health yields highest returns!
WQ_ImageTestimonials_Piyush.png

Obesity is an open invitation letter to a host of other health problems.

Piyush strongly agrees.

A stock trader from Kolkata, Piyush was overweight, diabetic and hyper tensive. He used to weigh 108 kilos and fasting sugars were in the range of ~160-170. His BP levels were 135/95.

Obviously, he was on medication for both of them.

He had also had other common conditions from overweight such as back pain, knee pain and ankle pain. He wasn't able to walk for more than half to one kilometer at a stretch.

But deep down he was aware that medications cannot be the only answer. He was looking for someone who can guide him towards good health.

It's around that time, he got in touch with the coach from Wellness Quotient community. After initial discussions, he decided to give it a go.

3 months into following the program, his weight has reduced from 108 kilos to 87 kilos. His fasting blood sugar levels also came down to normal and he is able to stop his diabetes medication.

In 4 months after starting the program, his blood pressure came into control too. With BP of 120/80, he was able to stop his BP medication as well.

He says, "I like the healthy lifestyle the program offers. It is easily doable and sustainable."

The newly found health is like a whiff of fresh air for Piyush. He is now able to walk for more than 10 kilometers in a day. His femur bone pain and back pain are gradually reducing as well.

He now claims that this investment into his health has yielded him the best returns ever!

But the path that led her to this has been a bumpy one.

When Sweety came to Bangalore as a young bride at 25 weighing just 56 kgs, it was all fun and frolic – eating out, late dinners, pizzas, burgers, canned juice and endless list of junk!

No wonder that as she celebrated her first wedding anniversary her weight touched 64 kgs! But naïve as she was, it did not bother her because she was sure her one hour jog every morning was enough to wash down her sinful eating.

Two years down the line, when mother hood came her way, she happily embraced the new born and her post pregnancy weight which was now 75!

She struggled to shed some pounds without much success.

The figure glaring at her from the mirror terrified her. She longed to be back in the clothes she wore earlier and that’s when WQ stepped in like a savior.

Sweety was more than willing to do anything to get back in shape. Four months of sincere work produced the results she had been craving for - 53 kgs! Size ‘L’ to size ‘S’ in the pink of health.

Looking back at the journey, Sweety is proud to look slim and fit but happier about the lifestyle habits that are here to stay.

Fitness is happiness
WQ_ImageTestimonials_AmarGupta.png

Fitness is not an activity but a lifestyle – this is the big lesson Kumar Amar learnt.

For someone who had always been into fitness, it came as a surprise that with start of career weight gain was unstoppable, though slow.

Health checks revealed a slight overweight of about 4 – 6 kgs and a BMI of 26. It was not until the weight brought along its partners of back ache and heel pain, that Amar knew it was time to take things seriously.

With Yoga, there was some improvement but to find a solution he had to meet an orthopedist, who confirmed that the problem lay in the weight and not the bones.

It was wake up call for Amar for he was toughing 40, beyond which reversal of figures could be difficult.

Timely meeting with the Wellness Community through his wife was a new dawn. The wellness coach explained about the pillars to lifestyle habits and ways to customize to suit his needs.

Taking up the monthly challenges thrown by the community sincerely and actively, Amar started seeing the small yet visible difference in his weight and fat loss.

Overtime, he became mindful of his eating habits and he was able to get back to his exercise routines, jogging.

He understood the need to watch his nutrition during high intensity workouts. In 4 months, his weight came down to 68 with BMI of 23.

With his weight coming down, Amar began to feel energetic and looked younger. The lockdown came as a blessing and he could focus on his health. He diligently worked to bring his weight down to 66 with the ideal BMI of 22. And guess what! He is now a coach for HIIT exercises in Tabata format.

“My college mates compliment me that I continue to look the same as I did during our college days! I owe a lot to WQ for this transformation.” Says a happy and healthy Amar.

Flying high with a corporate career – doesn’t it sound like ‘mission accomplished’?!

Well, it did seem so for Puja until the flip side showed its ugly face.

Frequently changing shifts with erratic and long working hours, sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy food from restaurants resulted in depleting health.

It began with body ache and fatigue that tagged along throughout the day. Irregular periods joined as a byproduct.

Diagnosed with hypothyroidism, Puja was put on hormone pills. Soon the TSH levels improved from the scary figure of 6 and Puja was happy.

But this happiness was short lived as the side effects of the hormone pills surfaced with severe pimples and acne, hair fall and finally uncontrolled weight gain.

Depressed and frustrated, Puja stood helpless when she got introduced to Wellness Quotient through a friend. The wellness coach guided her and with baby steps Puja could see a heartening improvement. Her medication came down.

But somewhere, she went off track only to be woken up with a shocker when her reports revealed her TSH levels at 8.48! She gave herself a shake and restarted work with her coach diligently.

Giving her 100% and changing to the WQ lifestyle, today Puja is proud to announce that she is out of medication and has reduced around 7kgs weight.

“Healthy lifestyle is not so difficult when you have WQ by your side” says a smiling Puja.

Food management and weight management – can the twain ever meet?!

Coming from an Odia family, Susmita Mishra has tasted the world of glamour as well as the corporate world. She has been a TV anchor, Odia actress, journalist and also has been in Bangalore with the corporate world.

Coming from Puri - town known for its beaches and tasty cuisine - she has been a foodie since childhood.

Moving to Bangalore, she quickly adapted to the place and fell for the local restaurants along with the sedentary lifestyle that came with the work schedule.

With pregnancy came the nausea and vomiting bouts that kept her food likings at bay. But post pregnancy as she began the journey into motherhood, Susmita’s food cravings went overboard as if to make up for all the lost times.

Within a short time she gained 15 – 16 kgs. 3rd stage varicose veins added fuel to the fire. Even her daily work became painful let alone dancing.

73 kgs and multiple failed therapies left Susmita miserable and she knew that losing weight was the only way out. But how? For a foodie, diet control is a terror.

When all around looked gloomy, she saw a streak of sunshine when she got introduced to an expert from Wellness Quotient through a friend.

It seemed too good to be true when she heard about the healthy lifestyle habits. But over a few consultations, she was convinced and ready to take the plunge.

Her weight loss journey was a learning process and an eye opener. In four months, she reduced 13 -14 kgs without compromising on her favorite delicacies.

The coach helped her manage her diet with Odia cuisine! What more could she ask for?

73 kgs to 59 kgs in four months and 1 ½ years later the same! "All thanks to WQ", beams Susmita. With varicose veins out and dancing in, she now enjoys life to the brim and helps people with similar needs.

Happiness grows when shared, isn’t it?

Clinch it, inch by inch
WQ_ImageTestimonials_AmitSaurav.png

Amit Saurav travelled from Patna to Bangalore in pursuit of a software career in 2012.

While he was all pumped up to work at his dream job, very soon the sedentary lifestyle started taking a toll on him. When irregular food habits were added to that, his belly started growing inch by inch.

At one point, he was at 37 inches. “ I was not at all happy with my bulging belly,” Amit sighs.

He started trying out different options to counter the growing waistline. Fad diets, workouts, etc. - but nothing seemed to work! Though his efforts bore results in short term, very soon his belly would catch up and get back to the previous size.

Amit recalls, “Around that time, I was going through a state of depression. All the ridiculing by the friends was no fun at all for me. Being a plus size was tearing my self-esteem down and I used to have a lot of sleepless nights".

When Amit met a coach from Wellness Quotient, it was almost God-sent! Among other things, the coach analyzed his lifestyle and workout regime and suggested some changes.

“There was a slow change but with my determination, there was a sure change," reflects a confident Amit.

The results started to show up. He lost half an inch in just 2 weeks and with consistency lost 4 inches in the next 45 days.

Pot belly is a thing of past now. All his friends for whom Amit was a butt of jokes earlier now admire and look up to him.

Inspired to help others in his situation, Amit took it one step further as he completed his diploma in nutrition. “Miracles do happen, the only pre-requisite is right commitment and guidance,“ says Amit, now with the confidence to take on the world.

Wellness is a journey, not a destination
WQ_ImageTestimonials_VeeraSubramanian.png

They say wellness is a journey, not a destination.

Veera Subramanian would swear by it.

Veera was a cricketer during his college days, super fit and weighing 56 kgs. As an athlete who took care of his body, Veera loved to dress up and take selfies.

But all of that changed when he injured his knee while playing. In spite of being an athlete with access to medical facilities, he could not find a solution to his knee pain for 4 years!

"Those 4 years were extremely difficult", recalls Veera. He lost much of his stamina and gained a tremendous amount of weight. Dressing up was no longer enjoyable as it used to be.

The worst part was when he started losing his confidence in himself. "My waist size was 36 & shirt size XL, so I refused to buy ready-made clothes", he says.

His wife began to notice his lethargy while he was spending time with his family. Veera was in for one more shock when he got his lipid profile test done and found out that his cholesterol levels were too high.

He knew it was time to take a decision to lose weight.

Veera's wife introduced him to her coach in the Wellness Quotient community. With necessary guidance, he started his weight loss journey. His coach tracked his progress daily and monitored his eating patterns.

Slowly, but surely he began to see an improvement in his energy levels. He started feeling energetic at the end of the day even though he started his day at 5 am and ended at 11:30 pm!

He started to shed his weight, too. "I started at 79.7 kgs and lost 17 kgs in just 6 months", says an excited Veera. His cholesterol levels have improved significantly.

Veera remarks, "My old clothes are unusable now. My waist size has dropped to 32 and my shirt size is back to 'M' ". That is a good problem to have.

But Veera reminds us that wellness is a journey when he declares, "I am excited to drop another 5 kgs and get back my athletic physique". And he is confident about it since he has Wellness Quotient alongside him
